Agartala, 31st March 2025:   After years of neglect, the seven-kilometer stretch of road connecting Barapathari to Yashmura in the Rajnagar assembly constituency under Belonia subdivision has finally been renovated, much to the relief of local residents. The once-dilapidated road riddled with potholes had been a source of inconvenience and frequent accidents for pedestrians and vehicle drivers alike.

The long-awaited repair work was initiated under the leadership of Rajnagar MLA Swapna Majumdar, who prioritized the project after assuming office. Following discussions with the Public Works Department, the renovation was undertaken by a contracting company, marking the culmination of a seven-year wait.

Residents have expressed their gratitude to the current government and MLA Majumdar for addressing their long-standing demand. “We had been demanding this road for a long time. It feels great that it has finally been implemented. Now we can travel without any problems,” said a local resident.

The newly paved road has brought a wave of optimism among the community, with hopes that proper maintenance will ensure its longevity and prevent future neglect.
