The prestigious event, held in Mumbai on 27th March 2025, recognised outstanding achievements in Indian cinema and entertainment. The star-studded evening saw several luminaries being honoured along with Biplab Goswami, with notable winners including Akshay Kumar, Rajkummar Rao, Tiger Shroff, Shahid Kapoor, Susmita Sen, Kajol, Ananya Panday, Anupam Kher, Sonu Nigam, Himesh Reshammiya, etc.

Pinkvilla, a leading entertainment and lifestyle digital platform since 2007, has been instrumental in celebrating and highlighting talent across the Indian media landscape. Its impact extended beyond commercial success, as it was also screened at the Supreme Court of India for awareness, reflecting its powerful social message.

Internationally, Laapataa Ladies received a theatrical release in Japan, where it enjoyed a successful multi-month run, culminating in a prestigious Japanese Film Academy Awards nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. The film was also a Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) selection, receiving a standing ovation and further solidifying its global appeal. Additionally, it was honoured with Best Film (Critics’ Choice) at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.

For Biplab Goswami, who has journeyed from Tripura to Kolkata’s Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute and then to the heart of Indian cinema, this succession of honours, including the IIFA Award for Best Story – Original earlier in March 2025, is not just a personal triumph but a moment of pride for Tripura.
