Agartala, August 05: Two friends injured in a collision between a bike and a bus. The injured individuals are named Tapas Acharya and Shamim Hossen. The incident took place on Saturday morning around eight o’clock in the new market area of Sonamura-Kathalia road. Their homes are in Matinagar.
Reportedly, a collision took place between a bike coming from the direction of Bilonia Agartala and a passenger bus with the registration number TR07-1252 coming from the opposite direction. As a result, both bike riders were seriously injured. It is known that the road conditions were poor, which contributed to this organized accident.
Upon hearing the loud noise of the collision, locals rushed to the scene. Due to the severity of the injuries, they immediately transported the injured to the Sonamura Hospital. From there, they were referred to a better-equipped hospital. Eyewitnesses say that the bike riders crashed into the front glass of the bus before coming to a stop inside it.
Local residents complained that the stretch of the road from Sonamura to Kathalia has not been properly maintained, and if immediate action is not taken to repair it, such accidents will increase in the coming days.
Upon receiving the news of the incident, the Sonamura police station staff went to the accident site, recovered the vehicles involved, and brought them to the police station. Additionally, the ambulance of ADC also faced a serious collision with a bike on the national highway while on its way to the scene. The bike rider was seriously injured. Currently, the injured youth is receiving treatment at Dhalai District Hospital. However, his name has not been identified yet.
