Agartala, June 17, 2023: Bike forces entered the Bagma police outpost and beat up the SPO jawan in front of all the police personnel and freed the leader of the bikers’ gang. The name of the leader of the bike force is Bapan Ghosh. The incident took place on Friday last. Condemning this incident strongly, the Congress workers questioned where the safety of the common people has gone.
Reportedly, a person named Bapan Ghosh robbed a young man named Uttam Pal of Rs 4,000 in cash along with a bike in front of Tripura Gramin Bank, Bagma Branch. Later, Uttam Pal reported the whole incident to Bagma police outpost. The police arrested Bapan Ghosh and took him to the police outpost. But shortly after the arrest, 25 to 30 miscreants from the ruling party of Bagma area staged an attack inside the Bagma police outpost complex. Bapan Ghosh was taken away from the police outpost after beating SPO jawan Ranjit Das. Later, other police personnel of the police outpost narrowly saved Ranjit’s life.
After receiving the news of this incident, Radha Kishorepur police station OC Babul Das rushed to Bagma police outpost. On the other hand, Bagma police outpost OC Ratan Rabi Das went to Dharmanagar to testify in court. Later, Das arrived at police outpost after getting the news of this incident. According to police sources, the bike force’s leader Bapan Ghosh was arrested by police and taken to Radha Kishorepur police station.
Meanwhile, Gomati District Congress president Titon Pal appealed to the Chief Minister for a fair trial of the whole incident and to arrest the accused who attacked the police station. The accusation is against Tepania block vice-chairman Ramchandra Debnath and local mandal committee vice president Nimai Das. It is alleged that some bike forces have committed this incident under their leadership. The attack on the police station created a lot of excitement throughout Bagma. This time the police are not safe even in the police station. The bike has to be bloody. The police have no answer. However, the question from this incident is that if those who are responsible for protecting the people are affected in this way, then where is the protection of the common people? However, the police have not yet opened their mouths about this incident. Everything is being swallowed quietly. Especially if this allegation had not been raised by the Congress, it would have been confined within the four walls of the Bagma police outpost.
