Bike theft cases stir Udaipur, police recover two stolen motorcycles

Date:

Agartala, 3rd June 2026:   Udaipur subdivision witnessed a wave of concern after consecutive motorcycle thefts last month. Police, however, managed to recover both stolen vehicles, though the culprits remain at large.

According to police sources, a KTM bike (TR01AZ7509) was stolen from Udaipur Police Line on April 21, followed by a Pulsar (TR01J9932) from Phulkumari No.1 area on April 22. Written complaints were lodged at Radhakishorepur Police Station, which formed a special investigation team. With support from Kalamchhara Police, the KTM was recovered on April 31, while the Pulsar was found during night patrol in Dhajanagar the same day.

At a press briefing on Wednesday, Udaipur SDPO Debanjali Roy, Officer-in-Charge Sanjib Laskar, and SI Debanjan Majumder handed over the recovered bikes to their rightful owners.

In a separate incident on April 30, police intercepted a Bolero (TR03K1896) near Tepania carrying stolen chips. Two suspects, Jangsu Mia and Suman Mia, were detained, with preliminary evidence linking them to a theft racket.

Despite rising theft cases, locals expressed relief at the police’s swift action, though investigations into the accused continue.
