Agartala: September 16. Birajit Sinha, president of Tripura Pradesh Congress has written a letter to the Police Accountability Commission (PAC) of Tripura demanding to restore the deterioration of law and order situation in the state.

In the letter, Sinha said that on the 13th of September few Youth Congress workers of Tripura along with Pradesh Youth Congress President Rakhu Das organized a procession as a part of “Young India Ke Bol” and were protesting against various issues of youth in Tripura. “But unfortunately, the ruling party-led goons attacked the procession in front of the police at Bishramganj in Sepahijala district where some of the workers and leaders got severely injured. All these shameful happenings occurred suddenly where the police and administration remained as silent viewers. Moreover, even few police personnel also misbehaved, abused and assaulted Youth Congress leaders and workers followed by forceful detention of some of them to the Jail”, the letter reads.

He further claimed that such frequent deterioration of law and order situation in Tripura is really a big threat to the democratic rights of the common people and political workers.“Hence, to safeguard and restore the law & order situation in the state, would like to urge you to kindly look into the above cited matter and rectify it for the sake of maintaining the peaceful environment throughout the state”, Sinha demanded.
