Birth anniversary of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay observed in state

Agartala: June 26.  AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder inaugurated a tribute program which was organized on Monday evening to mark the 183rd birth anniversary of Emperor of Literature Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. Department of Information and Cultural Affairs organized this tribute program at Rabindra Bhawan in Agartala.  ICA Secretary Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, ICA Director Bimbisar Bhattacharya and others were present.

At the beginning of the program, everyone present paid tribute to literary emperor Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay by placing flowers on his portrait. The attendance of the general public in the event was significant. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that the life thought of Emperor of Literature Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay is an inspiration to those who practice literature. After the establishment of the BJP government in the country, it took initiative to honor poets, writers, freedom fighters who have made special contributions in various fields. In addition, initiatives are taken to present them to the new generation.
