Agartala, 9th September 2025: In response to the steep rise in prices of essential commodities, a delegation from the Bharatiya Janata Mazdoor Sangh (BJMS) submitted an eight-point charter of demands to the Tripura Forest Development and Plantation Corporation Limited (TFDPC) on Tuesday, urging immediate action to safeguard workers’ livelihoods.
The delegation called for the minimum daily wage to be raised to Rs 650 citing the growing financial strain on laborers due to inflation. “With the current market conditions, survival has become increasingly difficult for working-class families,” the group stated during the deputation.
Among the demands were provisions to ensure workers’ basic rights and access to essential benefits. The BJMS emphasized that without wage adjustments aligned with the cost of living, many laborers would be unable to sustain themselves.
