Agartala, 25th September 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb as co-in-charge for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections.
An official communication from Arun Singh, BJP National General Secretary and Headquarters In-Charge, confirmed that the appointments were approved by the party’s National President J.P. Nadda. Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav has been designated as the state in-charge.
Party insiders said Deb’s elevation reflects the BJP leadership’s faith in his organizational abilities and electoral experience. He has previously handled election responsibilities in Haryana, Odisha, and Delhi—work that reportedly drew praise from within the party.
With the high-stakes West Bengal polls approaching, the BJP expects Deb to energize the cadre, bolster grassroots organization, and help drive a more dynamic and effective campaign
