Agartala, 16th July 2025:  Pradesh Congress MLA Gopal Chandra Roy on Wednesday said that if the BJP thinks they will suppress the Congress to hide the core problems of the people, then they are doing it wrong, as power will not remain with them forever.

The Congress MLA said this while distributing leaflets among the people highlighting the core problems they are facing. He said that his demand is that the state government must withdraw the decision of hiking power tariff, water tax, house tax, and smart meter charges.

“The state government has to give an answer as to why there is a sudden spike in the price of essential commodities. If the state government led by BJP thinks that they will suppress the Congress, then they should remember that the government will not be in power forever. Health, finances, and power will not remain with you forever,” said Roy.The Congress MLA asked the Home Minister and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to take appropriate steps against all such issues, including the deterioration of law and order.

“I don’t want to hold Tripura Police responsible. They are being used by a section of BJP people against the Congress and other opposition parties. I want to demand strict action. We will not move away from our demands, nor will we remain silent. People are in distress, and we are distributing leaflets of AICC, but we are not creating any chaos,” he said.

The Congress MLA said that the Congress is bringing the problems of the people to the attention of the general public in the form of leaflets.

“But a section of BJP workers is trying to attack us with the intention to kill. I want to demand strict action,” he added.
