Agartala, 10th April 2025: The rivalry between the ruling BJP’s youth wing Pradesh Yuva Morcha and the CPI(M)’s Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has reached a fever pitch. Leaders from both sides—Pradesh Yuva Morcha President & MLA Sushanta Deb and DYFI Secretary Nabarun Deb have been trading sharp verbal blows in recent days, each determined to outmaneuver the other.
Launching a counter attack today, Deb dismissed the remarks by DYFI state secretary Nabarun Deb as baseless. He accused the opposition of hypocrisy, recalling allegations from 2014 that a DYFI leader had attempted to secure a government job for a family member during the CPI(M)’s tenure. Deb also defended the BJP’s governance in Bishalgarh, inviting the DYFI Secretary to witness the region’s development firsthand.
Deb further criticized the previous CPI(M) government, blaming it for fostering a drug crisis and misleading the state’s youth. In contrast, he claimed, the BJP is steering Tripura’s youth toward progress by empowering them with leadership roles as ministers and MLAs. He dismissed the CPI(M) as a “bankrupt party” with a similarly “bankrupt” youth organization, asserting that the opposition’s rhetoric stems from frustration.
