Police vehicle turtles at Ghaniamara: Driver escapes, maintenance concerns raised

Agartala, 10th April 2025: A gypsy car belonging to Bishalgarh police station bearing registration number TR01D0854 overturned in the Ghaniamara area while returning from an investigation in Ghanimara Panchayat Tilla today. The driver narrowly escaped while the TSR personnel and police officers were not in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Hearing the loud crash, local residents rushed to assist in recovering the overturned vehicle. Although tragedy was averted, concerns have been raised about the aging vehicles used by Bishalgarh police station. Many of these vehicles have surpassed their fitness limits, and several drivers have expressed fears about driving due to poor maintenance.

Police personnel later reached the scene to recover the vehicle, avoiding potential disgrace for the station. The incident highlights urgent maintenance issues that must be addressed to ensure safety and prevent future accidents.

The Bishalgarh police station narrowly escaped scandal and tragedy, but the incident serves as a pressing reminder of the need for upkeep of law enforcement vehicles.
