BJP gears up for Lok Sabha polls, holds meeting with state leaders

Agartala, 1st December 2023:  With the Lok Sabha elections approaching, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started planning its strategy for the state, where it won two seats in the last polls. A meeting of various district and mandal presidents was held at the state BJP office on Thursday, under the chairmanship of state president Rajeev Bhattacharya.

Bhattacharya said that the meeting was a follow-up of the one held after Durga Puja, where the organizational work for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections was discussed. He expressed confidence that the BJP would form the government in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, and increase its vote share in the other three states, where the assembly elections are being held. He said that the people have trust in the BJP and have shown their support for the party.

However, the BJP is facing a tough challenge in four out of the five states, according to the opinion polls. This has caused concern in Delhi, as the party fears that a poor performance in the state elections could affect its prospects in the Lok Sabha polls. The party is trying to overcome the setback and prepare for the national elections.

The meeting was attended by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder and several councillors from the BJP. They also extended their support to the party and its leadership.
