Agartala, 19th January 2025:   A shocking incident of molestation and assault has come to light in the capital’s Aralia Ghoshpara area, allegedly involving two prominent BJP leaders.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday night, has raised serious concerns about the safety of citizens in the region.

The victim, a housewife, along with her husband and children, were reportedly returning from a family function in Gandhigram when they encountered a tripper car blocking the road near Aralia Ghoshpara. The husband, who has filed a complaint, claimed that a Jain man had politely asked the driver of the vehicle to make way. However, this seemingly minor request escalated when BJP leaders Badal Ghosh, Rakesh Ghosh, and their associates emerged from the vehicle.

According to the husband’s account, the accused, reportedly intoxicated, dragged the woman out of the car and molested her. In a disturbing turn of events, they allegedly attempted to abduct her to a nearby field to commit further assault, but were prevented by the victim’s husband. The situation turned violent when the couple and their son were allegedly thrown onto the road and beaten mercilessly by the accused.

Local residents, who rushed to their aid, witnessed the assault and later claimed that the attackers included not only the BJP leaders but also other associates linked to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Reports suggest that the group attempted to harm the couple further and even vandalized their vehicle.

The victims have vowed to file a case at the East Women’s Police Station, naming the BJP leaders and their associates in their complaint. The assault has sparked widespread outrage in the area, with residents of Ghoshpara demanding swift justice. Local women, in particular, have expressed fears for their safety following the incident.
