Agartala, 9th August 2025: Raksha Bandhan — the festival symbolizing the cherished bond between brothers and sisters — was celebrated with zeal across the country today. In Tripura, the occasion extended beyond homes and families to honour the nation’s protectors.
Leaders of the Tripura Pradesh BJP Mahila Morcha visited the Akhaura check post to tie Rakhis on the wrists of BSF jawans stationed at the border. They also offered sweets as a gesture of gratitude for the soldiers’ dedication and service.
Observed in the Hindu month of Shravan, Raksha Bandhan sees sisters tying sacred threads on their brothers’ wrists, seeking lifelong protection, while brothers pledge to safeguard them. The tradition reflects mutual respect, love, and responsibility.
BJP Mahila Morcha President Mimi Majumder said, “On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, we convey our heartfelt wishes to all our brothers. We have come here to celebrate with our armed forces, who guard our borders with unwavering courage. This year is especially meaningful as our forces successfully carried out two major operations — Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev. We are proud of their sacrifices for the safety of our nation.”
The celebrations at Akhaura stood as a poignant reminder that the spirit of Rakhi extends beyond familial bonds, embracing the brave hearts who protect the nation.
