Agartala, 23rd September 2024:   Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has categorically rejected the allegations made by the Tipra Motha party regarding irregular operations of panchayat offices. The allegations claimed that panchayat offices were not opened regularly, thereby depriving common people of proper services were raised by several leaders of the Tipra Motha party including the Noagaon sub-zonal chairman.

A news report published on September 20 highlighted these allegations prompting a swift response from the BJP. In a joint meeting held at around noon on Monday at Jaithang ADC village located in the 57-Jubarajnagar assembly constituency of North Tripura District, BJP leaders dismissed the claims as baseless.

“The allegations are completely unfounded,” stated Jubarajnagar Block Vice-Chairman Samarendra Nath. “Since the swearing-in ceremony of the three-tier panchayat elections, we have been diligently working to manage the panchayats and provide services to the common people in the ADC villages,” he added.

The controversy began when Lala Halam, chairman of the Noagaon sub-zonal of Tipra Motha accused Panchayat Secretary Mantosh Roy of not coming to the office on time leading to the frequent closure of Jaithang ADC village offices. This, according to Halam was causing significant inconvenience to the local populace.

However, BJP leaders clarified that Mantosh Roy had additional responsibilities as the Booth Level Officer (BLO) for Uptakhali, Jaithang Village, and Booth No. 4 of the 57-Jubarajnagar assembly constituency. “Due to these added pressures, while he may occasionally be late, the Jaithang ADC Village office remains open regularly,” explained social worker Geeta Halam. “GRS Prabhat Chanda ensures the office is opened every day.”

The joint meeting was attended by leaders and activists from both BJP and Tipra Motha Party concluded with a resolution to work together for the benefit of the common people. “As partner parties, we must avoid making false accusations against each other,” emphasized Samarendra Nath. “Our focus should be on ensuring that the people of the ADC Village area continue to receive all government facilities as before.” Nath also called for cooperation and sincerity from all parties involved, underscoring the importance of unity in serving the community effectively.
