Agartala, 26th March 2026:   Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s record of 8,931 days in public service stands as a “remarkable example of governance,” BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee said. He contrasted Modi’s leadership with the Left Front’s 25-year rule in Tripura, which he claimed had deprived tribal communities of access to education and opportunities.

Speaking to the media personnel here, Bhattacharjee noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed 8,931 days in public office as of March 22 this year, describing it as a “remarkable example of service-oriented governance.” He recalled Modi’s journey from serving as Chief Minister of Gujarat to becoming Prime Minister, emphasizing his lifelong dedication to the nation and its people.

Extending congratulations, Bhattacharjee said that under Modi’s leadership, the BJP ended the era of coalition politics. He pointed out that Modi is the first Prime Minister since Jawaharlal Nehru to be elected for three consecutive terms. He also highlighted various welfare initiatives of the central government and spoke about the benefits Tripura has received during Modi’s tenure.

Turning to local issues, Bhattacharjee addressed the upcoming ADC elections and clarified the party’s position. He criticized the Left Front’s 25-year rule, claiming that tribal communities were deprived of education and opportunities, which prevented them from producing doctors, professors, or senior government officials in significant numbers.

On the political demands raised by other parties—such as “Greater Tipraland,” “Separate Tipraland,” or “Independent Tripura”—Bhattacharjee asserted that the BJP does not subscribe to such slogans. Instead, he said, the party believes in overall development of the state through the upliftment of tribal communities.

At one point, Bhattacharjee appeared slightly pressed while fielding multiple questions from journalists, though he managed to respond with a smile.

He was accompanied by SW&SE Minister Tinku Roy and party’s media in-charge Sunit Sarkar.
