Agartala, 21st August 2024:   In a significant political development, BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharya has officially submitted his nomination papers for the by-election of the only vacant seat in the Tripura state assembly. The event took place on Wednesday, marking a crucial step in the political landscape of the state.

Rajib Bhattacharya commenced his day by visiting the Assembly, where he met with Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. The meeting was marked by cordiality, with Bhattacharya greeting the Chief Minister warmly. Following their meeting, both leaders proceeded to the ARO room, where Bhattacharya handed over his nomination papers to the Assistant Returning Officer (ARO).

After the formal submission, Bhattacharya addressed the media, expressing his gratitude to the BJP All India President, the Prime Minister, and the Union Home Minister for their confidence in nominating him for the vacant seat. “With the blessings of all, I am committed to accelerating the development of Tripura state,” Bhattacharya stated. He also called upon all assembly members to extend their cooperation.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, speaking on the occasion, highlighted the unity within the party and its allies. “Tipra Motha and IPFT are with BJP,” he affirmed, underscoring the coalition’s strength.

The nomination of Rajeev Bhattacharya for the Rajya Sabha seat is seen as a strategic move by the BJP. The Chief Minister expressed optimism about Bhattacharya’s future contributions as an MP, reflecting on his successful tenure as the state BJP president. “Rajib Bhattacharya has demonstrated exemplary leadership, and I am confident he will continue to serve the state with dedication,” Dr. Saha remarked.

The nomination submission was attended by a host of dignitaries, including all BJP ministers and MLAs, as well as Minister Animesh Debbarma and other representatives from the Tipra Matha Dal. Given that MLAs are the voters in Rajya Sabha elections, it is widely anticipated that Rajib Bhattacharya will secure the vacant seat, further solidifying BJP’s position in Tripura.

This development marks a pivotal moment in Tripura’s political scenario, with Rajib Bhattacharya poised to play a significant role in the state’s legislative future.
