Agartala, 27th July 2026 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated disciplinary measures against two party members, including a former Member of District Council, for alleged involvement in activities deemed contrary to party discipline.
As per a statement issued by BJP Tripura Media In-charge Sunit Sarkar, the decision was taken under the direction of State BJP President Abhishek Debroy.

Former District Council Member Padmalochan Tripura has been temporarily removed from all party responsibilities and organisational activities. The party alleged that he continued to engage in activities against party interests despite repeated warnings and made statements on social media that were against organisational discipline and affected the party’s reputation.
In a separate action, Debashish Saha, popularly known as “Boro Kanai”, a member of Booth No. 16 under the 8-Town Bordowali Mandal, has been expelled from the BJP’s primary membership over allegations of anti-party activities.
The BJP stated that maintaining organisational discipline and protecting the party’s ideology and interests remain its foremost priorities. The party further warned that strict action would continue to be taken against anyone found violating party rules and principles, regardless of their position or status.
