Agartala, 27th July 2026 : Serious allegations have emerged regarding the functioning of the dialysis centre at Dharmanagar District Hospital in North Tripura. Although the facility is meant to provide free dialysis services to patients, allegations have been raised that prolonged power outages are disrupting treatment, forcing patients to wait for hours.
Dialysis is a life-saving medical procedure where every minute is crucial. However, patients and their families have alleged that due to the absence of electricity, several patients had to remain waiting on dialysis beds for extended periods, causing severe anxiety and frustration.
Local residents have also raised questions over the role of the private agency responsible for operating the dialysis centre. They alleged that there have been complaints of irregularities against the agency for a long time, but no proper investigation or action has been taken so far.
Questions are now being raised over why an alternative power backup system was not effectively maintained for such an essential healthcare service. Patients and their families have demanded an impartial investigation into the matter and strict action against those responsible.
They have also urged the authorities to ensure that critical medical services like dialysis remain uninterrupted in the future.
