Agartala, 2nd June 2024 : Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced a major blood donation initiative on Sunday to tackle the state’s ongoing blood shortage. Led by the BJP’s 10-Majlishpur Mandal in collaboration with various party morchas, the campaign aims to collect 500 units of blood from local panchayats.

“The program has already started, with the SC Morcha and 10-Majlishpur Mandal organizing a camp at SM Colony,” said Chowdhury. He highlighted the significant turnout of youths and women, emphasizing their trust in the government and party.

Chowdhury acknowledged the current blood crisis in the state’s banks, noting that Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has been actively supporting the initiative. “Chief Minister Saha himself is inspiring us by attending these camps,” he added.

The minister called on various organizations to continue their support, aiming to make blood donation a community festival. He announced an upcoming camp on June 9 at Binapani, organized by the Janjati Morcha, reinforcing the ongoing commitment to meet the 500-unit goal.
