Agartala, 23rd October 2026 : The Tripura state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on Thursday urged Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha to take strict legal action against those accused of harassing a tribal youth from Tripura in Delhi and making derogatory remarks about the state.
A delegation led by the BJYM state president met the Chief Minister and submitted a memorandum demanding exemplary punishment for the accused and a comprehensive, impartial investigation into the incident.
The Yuva Morcha also called for a probe into the alleged involvement of a “deep state” and Left-wing forces, claiming that the incident should be examined to determine whether there was any deliberate conspiracy to disturb peace, harmony and social unity in Tripura.
The organisation asserted that the harassment of the tribal youth and insulting remarks about Tripura had hurt the sentiments and dignity of the state’s people, particularly the tribal community. It stressed that any attempt to undermine their identity or create divisions in society would not be tolerated.
The BJYM urged the government to ensure accountability and introduce effective measures to prevent similar incidents in the future, reiterating its commitment to protecting the dignity of the tribal community and maintaining peace and unity in the state.
