Agartala, 14th September 2026 : A blood donation camp was organised at Banamalipur Mahanam Angan in Agartala on Monday as part of the foundation day observance of the institution. Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha attended the programme and lauded the initiative as an example of combining spiritual activities with social responsibility.
The programme was organised by the Nikhil Tripura Mahanam Sebak Sangha. Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumder, members and representatives of Mahanam Angan, ashram volunteers and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha said voluntary blood donation was one of the finest forms of humanitarian service, as the blood donated by an individual could give another person a second chance at life. He appealed to people from all sections of society to participate in voluntary blood donation and other welfare activities.
The Chief Minister also underlined the need to preserve the moral and cultural values associated with Sanatan Dharma. He said the endurance of Sanatan Dharma through centuries of invasions and challenges demonstrated its deep-rooted strength and continuity.
According to Dr. Saha, organisations working in the religious and social spheres have an important role in guiding the younger generation. He stressed the importance of teaching young people to distinguish between right and wrong and nurturing values such as honesty, integrity, compassion, forgiveness and tolerance.
He said challenges were an unavoidable part of life and urged people and institutions not to lose courage in difficult circumstances. Instead, he called for patience, mental strength and continued efforts to move forward.
Dr. Saha appreciated the activities undertaken by Mahanam Angan and said bringing people together through social initiatives was not an easy task. He particularly highlighted blood donation programmes as an effective way of connecting religious and spiritual outreach with humanitarian service.
He also assured that the government would extend support to initiatives aimed at preserving moral values and contributing to the welfare of society.
Representatives of the Nikhil Tripura Mahanam Sebak Sangha said social service has remained an important component of the organisation’s activities alongside its religious and spiritual programmes. The blood donation camp was organised to mark the foundation day while reinforcing the message of service to humanity.
The initiative drew participation from volunteers and well-wishers, spreading awareness about the importance of regular voluntary blood donation and the need to support patients requiring blood during emergencies.
