Agartala, 4th May 2025: Defying physical challenges, Sandip Das has achieved an inspiring academic milestone by securing first division in the Higher Secondary Examination, scoring 380 marks in the science stream. Originally from Kalachhari, Sandip currently resides in Kamaleshwari Kalibari Para, Kamalpur.
Despite suffering from a severe medical condition—a tumor under his spine—Sandip persevered through his studies, even taking his examinations while standing due to his illness. His determination and resilience have won admiration from family and locals alike, though the family’s financial struggles continue to weigh heavily on them.
Sandip’s father, Swapan Das, a peddler, has taken loans multiple times to fund his son’s treatment. Last December, Sandip underwent surgery, but the disease persists, requiring further medical intervention. However, with financial constraints tightening, the family is struggling to afford the necessary care.
A talented footballer in his earlier years, Sandip’s condition has altered his path, but his academic success stands as a testament to his perseverance. His mother expressed immense pride in his accomplishments, highlighting the extraordinary efforts he put into preparing for the exams despite his health challenges.
With limited financial resources, the family has now appealed to the state government and Chief Minister for assistance. Sandip himself, a determined yet ailing student, has called upon authorities for support, seeking aid for continued treatment.
