BSF detains 3 Bangladeshi, destroyed Cannabis plantation

Agartala, 29th July 2024:   On 29 July on getting specific  information about Plantation of Ganja in the depth area of Border Out Post (BOP) Salpokar,  a joint operation was launched by BSF with Jatrapur Police Station and forest department  in village Neuramura South Taiban.

Approximately 50,000 ganja plants cultivated on half hectare( approx) of land were destroyed by cutting and uprooting . Suitable legal action is being taken by  concerned department against the land owner.

BSF is committed to wipe out  the menace of Ganja and  narcotics in Tripura.

In another operation at about 03 Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by a BSF in the area of BOP Paharmura  in Khowai district, while they were trying to cross the Indo Bangladesh Border Fence (IBBF) and exhilarat from the Indian side towards  Bangladesh. Apprehended persons are residents of Meymen singh, Khulna and Narayan ganj district of Bangladesh. Questioning is in progress.

BSF has stepped up the surveillance and operations along the border in Tripura to foil the attempts of infiltrators and criminals.
