Agartala, 29th July 2024:  As the state election approaches on August 08, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ramping up its efforts to secure a decisive victory. On Monday afternoon, the BJP’s Boxanagar Mandal Committee held an organizational meeting at the Boxanagar Community Hall to rally support for the party’s nominees.

The meeting saw the presence of MLA Tafajjal Hossain, member of the Tripura Pradesh Committee and Chairman of the Hajj Committee Shah Alam Majumdar, Chairman of the Boxanagar Panchayat Samiti Sanjoy Sarkar and General Secretary of the Sepahijala District (South) Prasenjit Ghosh. The session was presided over by President of the BJP Boxanagar Mandal Subhash Chandra Saha.

In a significant development, it was announced that 211 BJP nominees from 21 gram panchayats in the Boxanagar block have won unopposed. This remarkable feat was achieved due to the absence of candidates from the opposition camp. Similarly, BJP candidates have also secured unopposed victories in 13 Panchayat Samiti seats.

The focus now shifts to the three Zilla Parishad seats in the Boxanagar assembly constituencies numbered 15, 16, and 17. Notably, CPM candidate Abu Zafar and Congress party candidate Babul Mia have withdrawn their candidacies, paving the way for BJP candidate Prasenjit Ghosh to win unopposed. However, the contest remains intense in the 17th seat, where CPIM’s Jasmine Sultana and Congress’s Taslima Nasreen are vying for victory against BJP’s Sanjay Sarkar.

During the organizational meeting, leaders urged the candidates of seats No. 15 and 17 to secure a resounding victory. “We must ensure a landslide win to continue our development agenda,” emphasized Tafazzal Hossain. Sanjoy Sarkar, who is currently serving as the Chairman of the Boxanagar Panchayat Samiti and contesting for the 17th seat of the Sepahijala Zilla Parishad, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Our commitment to the people of Buxnagar remains unwavering.”

With the election date drawing near, the BJP is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to consolidate its position and deliver on its promises to the electorate.
