Agartala, 29th July 2026 : North Tripura District Police achieved a major breakthrough in recovering lost and stolen mobile phones across the district. Acting under the directive of Superintendent of Police, IPS Avinash Rai, the Cyber Cell along with various police stations carried out coordinated technical operations that led to the recovery of 35 mobile phones.
In a formal programme held at the office of the Superintendent of Police in Dharmanagar, the recovered devices were handed over to their rightful owners. Police sources confirmed that the total market value of the recovered phones is estimated at nearly Rs 5 lakh.
Grateful recipients praised the initiative, expressing appreciation for the relentless efforts of the district police. Officials noted that several complaints of theft and missing phones had been lodged in recent months across different police stations. Continuous surveillance and investigation by the Cyber Cell played a crucial role in tracking and retrieving the devices.
Authorities further stated that operations are ongoing to trace and recover additional missing phones, ensuring continued support to affected citizens.
