BSF & Dharmanagar police joint operation leads to arrest of four at Indo-Bangla Border

Agartala, 2nd May 2025:  In a coordinated effort between the Border Protection Force (BSF) and Dharmanagar Police Station, authorities successfully arrested four individuals comprising of three Indian citizens and one Bangladeshi national during a joint operation at the Indo-Bangla border in the Ragna area.

According to police sources, personnel from the BSF Battalion, alongside officers from the Dharmanagar police, were conducting a special patrol early this morning when they detained the suspects at approximately 7 a.m. The individuals were immediately handed over to Dharmanagar Police, who subsequently arrested them and presented them before the district court.

The arrested individuals include Hepi Deb (25), a resident of Bansipur under Kulaura Police Station in Moulvibazar district, Bangladesh. The Indian nationals taken into custody are Almas Mia (3), a resident of Yakubnagar under Dharmanagar Police Station; Anjana Das (1); and Krishna Chandra Deb (28), son of Rabindra Chandra Deb hailing from Baruakandi area under Dharmanagar Police Station.

Authorities have initiated further investigations into the matter, with a formal case registered against the suspects. The joint operation underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen border security and prevent illegal activities along the Indo-Bangla boundary.
