Agartala, 22nd November 2024: In celebration of BSF Raising Day on December 01, 2024, a blood donation camp was organized at Srinagar Karima Tilla BOP in Sabroom subdivision by the 109th Battalion of BSF. The event was inaugurated by 109th Battalion of BSF Company Commandant Suresh Singh, Company Assistant Commandant NG Khotzi, and Dr. Satyajit Singh along with other BSF officers. The ceremony began with the ribbon-cutting by the chief guests.
Dr. Rahul Reang, Blood Bank In-charge of Belonia sub-divisional hospital along with his team facilitated the blood collection. In total, 41 BSF jawans, including a female BSF soldier donated blood during the camp. “Blood donation is a great donation—a donation of life. The importance of this need can be truly understood by the family of a dying patient,” remarked Company Commandant Suresh Singh.
The camp highlighted the commitment of the BSF to community welfare beyond their security duties. “Every year, on the occasion of Rising Day, we organize blood donation camps, health camps, and various social programs, including the distribution of materials to primary school students,” shared an enthusiastic BSF officer.
The event highlighted the spirit of service and humanitarian efforts by the BSF, reinforcing the importance of blood donation in saving lives. The successful camp at Srinagar Karima Tila BOP not only marked the BSF Rising Day but also showcased the dedication of the jawans to societal welfare.
