BSF Troops Rescue 22 Civilians in Road Accident at Panisagar

Agartala, 4th April 2026 :  In a prompt and coordinated operation, personnel of the 33 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully rescued 22 passengers after a civil vehicle met with a serious accident near Jalabasti.

At approximately 0930 hrs, a Jeep (Registration No. TR01 4489) carrying 22 passengers from Jalabasti to Chawmanu skidded on a slippery stretch of road and fell nearly 50 feet off the roadside in the Area of Responsibility of BSF BOP Jalabasti, Sector Panisagar.

Upon receiving the alert, the Company Commander immediately dispatched BSF troops and a vehicle to the accident site. In a swift rescue operation, all passengers were safely extricated. Eleven injured individuals, including five women and six men, were evacuated to Chawmanu Hospital by 1015 hrs for urgent medical treatment.

Thanks to the rapid response and effective coordination of the BSF personnel, no fatalities were reported. The timely intervention not only ensured the safe rescue of all passengers but also prevented any further loss of life.

This incident underscores the critical role of BSF troops in providing emergency assistance and maintaining public safety in remote areas.
