Agartala, March 14: A buffalo brought for sacrifice in the premises of Mata Tripureshwari temple went wild and injured one youth Biswajit Das, destroyed five motorcycles, a house and Raju Pal’s shop at Udaipur on Tuesday.
Reportedly, a devotee named Ramjoy Reang brought a buffalo from Bir Chandra Manu for sacrifice at Mata Tripureshwari Temple went wild and destroyed public properties.
In fear, people and shopkeepers of the area, including pilgrims who came to worship at the temple, started running and trying to protect themselves. A young man named Biswajit Das was injured in the buffalo stampede.
On the other hand, the owner of the affected house, Mithun Das, said that his house was badly damaged by the buffalo.
Meanwhile, after trying for some time to bring the buffalo to their control, the youth of the area controlled and tied it to an electric pole on the side of the national highway.
The police of Radhakishorpur police station rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident.
On this day, a massive panic triggered across Matabari premises due to the rampage of buffalo. Locals demanded financial assistance to all affected persons.
