Burglars Strike House in East Churaibari, Steal Cash and Gold Worth Rs 2 Lakh

Agartala, 27th December 2025:   A gang of burglars took advantage of the deserted condition of a house and carried out a theft in Ward No. 3 of East Churaibari Gram Panchayat, triggering panic among local residents.

According to reports, Nitish Das, a resident of Ward No. 3 of East Churaibari Gram Panchayat, along with his wife Papiya Das, had gone to a nearby area on urgent work in the evening. Before leaving, they locked three rooms of their house.

After returning home a short while later, the couple found the locks of all three rooms broken. On entering the house, they were shocked to see household items scattered all over the place and the almirah broken open.

Family sources said that gold ornaments and cash kept in the almirah were stolen. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be around ₹2 lakh.As news of the incident spread, tension and fear gripped the area. Local residents gathered at the spot and expressed concern over the security situation.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and launched an investigation. Police officials said efforts are being intensified to identify and arrest the culprits at the earliest.
