Agartala, 4th May 2025: A businessman was kidnapped in broad daylight today with assailants holding a pistol to his head. The victim identified as Rupnath Bhuiya, a resident of Dhaleswar Water Supply area was later rescued in an injured condition from the border area. Bhuiya operates a shop in Maharajganj Bazar.
The alleged perpetrators of the abduction have been named as Bikash Sarkar and Palash Sarkar. According to Bhuiya’s wife, the family has lodged a complaint with the police, who have assured them of an investigation into the matter.
Preliminary reports suggest that the incident may have been triggered by a financial dispute. Bhuiyan’s wife has expressed concerns that monetary transactions might have led to the violent act. Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough inquiry to determine the motive and ensure justice.
