Agartala: August 08. The Election Commission on Tuesday announced dates of by-election in Boxanagar and in Dhanpur Assembly Constituencies in Tripura’s Sepahijala district.
As per the ECI press note, the election in these two seats will be held on September 5. The seats fell vacant following the demise of Samsul Haque of CPIM in Boxanagar and resignation of Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik from Dhanpur seats.
The Election Commission said in a statement that it has decided to hold a bye-election to fill vacancies in 7 Assembly Constituencies of 6 States i.e. Jharkhand, Kerala, Tripura, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The counting of votes will take place on September 8, 2023.
