Agartala, 2nd May 2026: The Tripura Cabinet has cleared the appointment of 112 posts across various departments, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced at a press briefing today. Of these, 107 positions will be filled through competitive examinations, while five will be filled through promotions.
The minister detailed that the Finance Department’s Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts will recruit 50 Senior Computer Assistants (Group-C) via the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). In addition, the General Administration (Printing and Stationery) Department will appoint candidates to 43 technical posts, requiring applicants to have passed secondary education and completed ITI courses. These recruitments will be conducted through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT).
The Election Department will also see new appointments, with six Lower Division Clerks (Group-C) and four Group-D staff to be recruited through JRBT. Five existing employees will be promoted to LDC (Group-C) posts. Furthermore, the Home (Prisons) Department will appoint four pharmacists in the allopathy division.
Beyond recruitment, the Cabinet approved several welfare measures. A new scheme titled Chief Minister’s Assistance to Unmarried and Dependent Daughter/Son was formally launched. Under this initiative, families of paramilitary personnel from Tripura who lost their lives in service will receive financial support. One unmarried and dependent child above 18 years of age will be entitled to a monthly allowance of ₹2,000. The benefit will be restricted to one child per family.
Additionally, the Cabinet enhanced the monthly allowance for widows of Tripura soldiers who died in World War II. Currently, 12 surviving widows receive ₹10,000 per month; this has now been raised to ₹15,000.
Minister Chowdhury emphasized that these decisions reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening public welfare while expanding employment opportunities across departments.
