Centre, State gives importance to people’s idea:  Deputy CM

Agartala: August 03. Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma today said that the current central and state government has laid importance to the people’s ideas in the development plans of the common people.

Dev Varma said this while inaugurating a workshop on Government e-Market (GEM) at the Agartala Town Hall on the initiative of Finance Department.Dev Varma who is also finance minister said Government e-Market (GEM) will be the government’s digital platform for local content marketing in the future. “So the current government launched GEM in 2019 to bring transparency in procurement. Digitization will be the only way for prosperity, transparency and development of the country in all fields. As a result, it is possible to easily complete audit in government offices”, he said.

The workshop was attended by various levels of officials attached to Gems of Agartala Treasury-1 and Treasury-II, Jirania, Mohanpur.In the workshop, Deputy Chief Minister also said that local traders, members of self-help groups, self-employed people will be able to promote their products in the national market through their inclusion in GeM. “As a result, the goods produced in the state will be much easier to reach the national market”, he said.Therefore, the Deputy Chief Minister urged the concerned department to take initiatives so that more and more local businessmen register themselves with GeM.

It may be noted that 540 businessmen of the state are now associated with GeM. While speaking, the Deputy Chief Minister also said that the current central and state governments give importance to the people’s ideas in the development plans of the common people. “Because Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes that a government that is responsible to the people can play a responsible role in development”, he said.
