Chain snatching case: Three held, gold chain recovered

Date:

Agartala, 6th May 2026:   NCC Police Station staff achieved a major breakthrough in a recent chain-snatching incident in Indranagar. Three individuals’ two men and one woman have been arrested in connection with the crime, and the stolen gold chain has been successfully recovered.

NCC SDPO Subrata Barman said that the incident took place on April 16 when miscreants snatched a gold chain from a woman in the Indranagar area and fled. The victim later lodged a written complaint at the police station. Acting swiftly, investigators traced the accused to the Kabarkhola locality of Indranagar, where they were apprehended yesterday.

SDPO Barman noted that the police team quickly identified the culprits and carried out the operation leading to their arrest. He further observed that women’s involvement in such snatching cases is on the rise in the city, which is a matter of concern.

The arrested trio were produced before the court today. Meanwhile, investigators are probing whether others were involved in the incident.
