Chandigarh-based fraudster loots Rs 19 lakh from 4 youths in Agartala

Agartala, April 23: Five youths lost nearly Rs 19 lakh in the clutches of fraudsters as they did not get jobs in Canada. Becoming helpless, they filed a complaint against the fraudster in the West Tripura district and Sessions Judge Court. They alleged that a fraudster from Chandigarh looted Rs 19 lakh from five youths by luring them with a job of Rs 3.5 lakh rupees per month in Canada.

The complaint is against Gurujit Singh, the head of a company called ‘Global Immigration Services’ in Chandigarh. The affected youths filed complaint in the West District and Sessions Judge Court. The youths are Chandan Das, Antar Das, Santu Das, Ratan Das and Parimal Das. They are all residents of Agartala.

They further alleged that the fraudster Gurujit Singh claimed that a visa to Canada would be issued if each person was paid Rs 4 lakh. But after paying a total of Rs Rs 19 lakh, Gurujit Singh has not been in any contact for the last one and a half months. He is not picking up the phone.

A written complaint was made in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate in this regard. The case registered number is CRMISC 31/2023 under sections 420 of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act. Advocate Debashish Datta is presenting the case on behalf of the victims. All the affected youths are salesmen and auto-rickshaw drivers.
