Churaibari: Husband allegedly attacked by in-laws in midnight raid

Agartala, 18th May 2025:   A shocking incident took place at Nadiapur Shanichhara Gram Panchayat under Churaibari police station in when a man allegedly subjected to prolonged financial and physical abuse by his wife and in-laws, was reportedly attacked at his residence.

Sources informed that the victim’s in-laws led by his wife’s father’s family members stormed the house late at night with a group. Witnesses allege that the assailants vandalized the property, physically assaulted the husband, and looted cash and gold ornaments. In a further dramatic turn, the wife reportedly left the house in the dark of night with her family members.

The incident has created an uproar in the community. Residents expressed strong condemnation of the attack and demanded strict legal action. “Such acts of open violence and looting over family disputes raise serious concerns about social security and morality,” said a neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous. “We demand swift justice and exemplary punishment for those responsible.”

Following the attack, the distressed husband sought refuge at Churaibari police station, filing a formal complaint and urging authorities to take immediate action. Law enforcement officials have confirmed the initiation of an investigation. “We are treating this matter seriously. Steps are being taken to identify the accused and ensure justice is served,” stated a senior police officer.
