Civil Disobedience at Dharmanagar, 213 arrested

Agartala, August 05, 2022: A civil disobedience movement was organized at Dharmanagar on Friday. A rally started from in front of the Congress Bhavan and marched through the Kalibari Dighi on its way to the District Magistrate’s office, At first, they broke and passed through a police barricade and later, they tried to break the second barricade, but they were arrested.

A total of 213 people were arrested and kept in Ardhendu Bhattacharya Bhavan. The main objective of this program is to provide employment to the unemployed, cancel the fire bill and control the ever-increasing prices of essential commodities.

Senior Congress leader Advocate Ajit Das, Block Congress President Parimal Chakraborty, District Youth Congress President Nirupam Dey, strong Congress leader Kebal Kanti Nandy, Congress leader Pankaj and others were present in this movement on behalf of Congress.
