Agartala, March 26: In a shocking turn of events, three individuals, including Karan Banik, the social media co-incharge of Pradesh Yuva Morcha, were hospitalized following a violent incident at the Aurobindo Sangh club in Kashipur. The victims are currently receiving treatment at GB Hospital.
The incident reportedly took place during a celebration at the club, led by a man named Suman Das. Upon learning of the event, Banik informed the club secretary, who then asked him to investigate the matter. Accompanied by his father and several locals, Banik went to the club, where they were attacked by Das and his associates.
Karan Banik, who rushed to the scene upon hearing of the attack on his father, was also seriously injured. Other victims include Nirmal Banik, Debu Ghosh, and Doctor Sukanta Das. The police, alerted to the incident, arrived promptly at the scene and assisted in transporting the injured to GB Hospital.
Banik, speaking to the media from the hospital, claimed that the primary objective of Das and his group was to illegally occupy the Aurobindo Sangh. He alleged that this violent event was organized after local residents had previously thwarted their attempts. Banik also reported that his silver chain, mobile phone, and wallet were stolen during the incident. Local residents are hopeful that the ongoing police investigation will shed light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
However, this incident has brought to light long-standing grievances among a section of the locals regarding the club’s activities. Accusations of forced occupation and attempts to disrupt the peace and harmony of the area have been leveled against the club. Despite local leaders being aware of these issues, the lack of decisive action has led to escalating tensions. The government’s perceived indifference to the situation has further exacerbated the situation, culminating in the violent incident that unfolded this afternoon.
