Agartala, 4th May 2024: A violent altercation took place within a tea shop premises located in the Battala area here on Saturday afternoon. The clash resulted in one individual sustaining injuries identified as Abhinash Debnath (21).
Hailing from the Amtali area, Abhinash Debnath is reported to be employed as a daily laborer. Eyewitnesses recounted that on the day of the altercation, Abhinash was seated at a table within the Battala tea shop, idle due to lack of work. It was during this time that another youth, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, entered the premises and assaulted Abhinash with a brick to his head.
Upon facing resistance, the accused fled the scene leaving Abhinash in a critical condition. Promptly alerted by locals, firefighters swiftly responded to the distress call. They found Abhinash in a pool of blood and immediately shifted him to GB Hospital for urgent medical attention.
At present, Abhinash remains under treatment at GB Hospital as authorities continue their investigation into the incident.
