Class VII Student Shot in Tripura; Police Probe Underway

Agartala, 4th  October 2026 :  A 12-year-old Class VII student was reportedly shot and injured in the Ram Bhadra area under Natun Bazaar police station, triggering concern among local residents.

The injured student has been identified as Marhen Reang. He is currently undergoing treatment at Gomati District Hospital.

According to available information, Marhen sustained a gunshot injury to the back. The bullet reportedly passed through his body and exited through the front abdominal area. He was initially rushed to Amarpur Sub-Divisional Hospital in a critical condition. Following preliminary treatment, doctors referred him to Gomati District Hospital for further medical care.

However, the exact circumstances under which the minor was shot remain unclear. Family members have reportedly been unable to provide a clear account of how the incident occurred, raising several questions surrounding the shooting.

The incident has caused considerable tension in the area. Police have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the shooting and establish the exact cause of the incident.
