CM assures support for girl battling rare genetic disorder

Agartala, 5th July 2026:   Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today assured that the state government would extend all possible support to Manashree Chowdhury, a young girl battling the rare genetic disorder Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). The Chief Minister said that Manashree’s family had approached him during a recent edition of Mukhyamantri Samipeshu.

“They came to meet me during the recently held Mukhyamantri Samipeshu. We are looking into the matter and working on ways to resolve it. Today, we also spoke with the officials and the family to explore how we can help and find a solution,” he said. Dr. Saha stated that he is fully aware of the family’s situation and assured that the state government is seriously examining all possible options to provide maximum assistance for Manashree’s treatment. The Chief Minister further said that the government is making every effort to ensure the necessary support and explore all available avenues to facilitate Manashree’s medical care.
