Agartala, November 03: The Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha on Friday inaugurated the ‘Sharad Samman’ program organized by ‘Syandan Patrika’ at Agartala Town Hall. He lauded the clubs for playing an important role in maintaining a healthy environment in the society and urged them to remain neutral at all times.
The Chief Minister said that the club culture in the state has undergone many changes and the violence that used to mar the club activities in the past has been reduced. He said that the ‘Sharad Samman’ program, which honours the clubs for their performance during the ‘Sharadiya Durgo Utsav’, is very useful and appreciated the Syandan Patrika authorities for organizing such an event.
The Chief Minister also said that this year, the state witnessed immense joy and peace during the festival and no law and order issues were reported. He said that the state government, along with the ICA department and Agartala Municipal Corporation, organized the ‘Mayer Gomon’ carnival 2023 program, which received a great response from the people. He said that the state government is working to maintain the atmosphere of peace and harmony in the state from a neutral role.
The event was attended by Sports journalist Saraju Chakraborty, who gave a welcome speech, AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner Arif Mohammad, Syandan Patrika’s Editor Subal Dey, Swami Trikalananda Maharaj and others. The Chief Minister along with the guests presented prizes to various clubs in the function.
