Agartala, 19th November 2024 : The Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha will inaugurate the 7-day Heritage Fest 2024 for the third time at Swami Vivekananda Maidan here on November 21 next. Dr Saha will be accompanied by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy and Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumdar.
Addressing the reporters here at Agartala Press Club today, President of Yuva Vikash Kendra Panchali Debbarma said, “The 7-day fair will witness participants from different states coming together to celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage. Heritage Fest, an initiative by the Youth Development Center (YVK) in Tripura, aims to promote national solidarity and understanding among the youth by showcasing diverse cultural traditions.”
The festival will provide a platform for youth from different states and countries to interact, share their culture, and create lasting connections. Each participating state will present their traditional dance, music, and art forms, creating a vibrant display of India’s cultural tapestry. “This festival is a celebration of unity in diversity, and it brings together the rich cultural heritage of various regions,” added vice-president Debasish Majumdar.
As part of the Heritage Fest, YVK will also organize the Tribal Expo to promote local artisans and self-help groups (SHG) during the festival. “The Tribal Expo at the Heritage Fest is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Tripura’s tribal community. It will be an informative, engaging, and vibrant event,” said secretary Pratima Debbama.
The Heritage Fest 2024 promises to be a grand celebration, fostering cultural exchange and promoting the rich traditions of India. The week-long event will not only entertain but also educate and inspire the youth to appreciate and preserve their cultural heritage.
