Agartala, August 08, 2022: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday had a courtesy meeting with union minister of Road, Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari at New Delhi. During the meeting, Pradesh BJP ‘Prabhari’ Vinod Sonkar and union minister of state for Road, Transport and Highways, General VK Singh was present along with the officials of the Ministry and NHIDCL.
CM Dr Saha in his social media handle wrote “A very fruitful meeting was held today with Hon’ble Minister of Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari ji and Hon’ble Minister of State of this Ministry General Vijay Kumar Singh ji for National Highway and Road Development Project in Tripura.”
“Gadkari ji directed the officials of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and NHIDCL, Kamalpur-Ambassa-Gandacherra-Amarpur road (148 km), Udaipur-Sonamura-Comilla road (44 km) and Agartala city bypass west (25 km) road to be included under ‘Bharatmala 2.0’ project”, he said.
Dr Saha said “The union minister directed the commencement of work on the Agartala-Teliamura section of NH-08 to four lanes and National Highway up to Khowai-Teliamura-Amarpur-Sabroom. Approved a scheme of Rs 200 crore from the ‘Central Road Infrastructure Fund for Construction’ for construction of paved bridges and cement concrete roads in the state.”
On the other hand, Dr Saha, who is also the BJP state president met with BJP national president JP Nadda at Sansad Bhavan and BJP national general secretary (organization) BL Santosh, separately in New Delhi and informed them about the various organizational issues of the party.
