CM inaugurates 101 new ‘Business Correspondent Centers’ of TGB

Agartala, November 28, 2022: Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha on Monday inaugurated 101 new ‘Business Correspondent Centers’ of Tripura Gramin Bank at his official residence at Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Lane here.

Tripura Gramin Bank Chairman Satyendra Singh, Chief Secretary JK Sinha along with senior officers were present.Speaking to reporters after inaugurating 101 new ‘Business Correspondent Centers’ simultaneously through online mode, Chief Minister Dr Saha said that Tripura Gramin Bank continues to play an important role in the development of the financial condition of the people in the rural areas of the state. He expressed hope that the total of 498 ‘Business Correspondent Centers’ including the new 101 will play a more important role in the interests of the rural people in the coming days.

Notably, since its inception on December 21, 1976 under the supervision of United Bank of India, Tripura Gramin Bank has been playing an important role in providing banking services to the common people in rural areas.

Currently they have 148 branches, 17 ultra-small branches and 1 RSETI. Among them, ‘Business Correspondent Center’ acts as one of the means of payment through APS, deposit, balance enquiry, fund transfer, transaction with self-help groups, printing of passbook, opening of new account etc.

Among the 101 new ‘Business Correspondent Centers’ of Tripura Gramin Bank inaugurated by the Chief Minister on this day, there are 22 in West Tripura district, 14 in Sipahijala district, 12 in Gomti district, 16 in South Tripura district, 9 in Dhalai district, 7 in North Tripura and 5 in Unakoti district.
