Agartala, October 17, 2022: Tripura Chemists and Druggists Association on Monday organized a blood donation camp at their office premises here in Agartala where a total of 30 members and volunteers donated their blood.
The blood donation camp of the association was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha in presence of Agartala Municipal Corporation’s Mayor Dipak Majumder, MLA Krishnadhan Das and others.
Addressing the event, Dr Saha asked the association members to change the culture of giving a memorandum of demands which was a culture during the previous Left Front government’s regime. During the present government’s regime led by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, such memorandums are not required as the government is working for the welfare of all.
He said “Earlier, memorandums of demands were placed by various organizations for fulfilling their desired needs. Now, government is working in direction of providing benefits for all without any kind of submission of documents or demands. Moreover, people of any association can meet with the Chief Minister or Health minister anytime and place their demands verbally. I am not criticizing or hurting the members of the association, but this culture of placing memorandums have to be wiped away.”
Dr Saha highlighted the significance of blood donation camps. “We want to bring change in our society. Discussion on GST took place, it is not in our hands as it is completely dealt by the central government”, he added.
