Agartala: June 12. In a move to use the less paper and to bring more transparency in the government, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday inaugurated ‘Training Program of Members of Tripura Legislative Assembly under ‘National e-Vidhansabha Application’.
While inaugurating the training program, the CM said that the training program which started from today and would continue till 25th June.
“Tripura perhaps the third state where the e-Vidha Sabha introduced. We are not expert but if we can use this thing properly then our assembly will be paperless. You will find lots of paper in assembly. And sometime it’s very difficult to find out paper immediately. Our government is working across the country for digitization and make the country paperless. And in our state too in different offices we are working paperless”, said the CM.
He said that the introduction of e-Vidhansabha will help everyone in generating the document easily and quickly.
“This application will also improve efficiency and transparency of our government and will also reduce the cost and resource optimization. NeVa is indeed a wonderful arrangement. And it’s a part of digital program which was started by government of India. The main aim is to digitization and integration of various legislative functions including drafting, tabled questions, committees proceedings , digitized assembly proceedings and etc. So it will be now very easy for all people including the MLAs of the house and no need to carry papers .When our PM has inaugurated the new parliament house I have seen that this system was inbuilt. This will Reduce waste of time and reduce paper usage. Electronic voting systems will be also available. I feel proud that I could be present during the inauguration of such innovative thing in our assembly. It will be more easer for the coming generation as more transparency will be there”, he added.
During the program, Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Biswabandhu Sen, Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Paul, Chief Whip Kalyani Roy, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath, leader of opposition Animesh Debbarma and other MLAs and officials were present along with CM Dr Saha.
